We are Socitm Advisory - the management consulting business for the public sector.

The Agile Delivery Manager is a critical role to the current and future success of Socitm Advisory. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction, specifically within programme delivery areas, to ensure the portfolio is managed to time, budget, and client expectations. 

Using your experience in complex management and scheduling of large scale and complex programmes, you will ensure that the right prioritisation is achieved to deliver the impacts on which Socitm Advisory if focussed. You will ensure that we have the correct resources, methodology, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement in place to provide high quality technical delivery and reporting - all underpinned by a commitment to The Socitm Way.

Digital must be front and centre of government's priorities to meet user needs and this is the perfect time for us to accelerate the digital transformation of public services across the whole of government.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well

  • Identifying obstacles and helping the team to overcome them

  • Focussing the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services

  • Encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement of the delivery team

  • Coaching and mentoring both team members and others to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques

The complexity or breadth of products or teams will vary in this role, depending on the context.

Experience:

  • Senior-level experience in overseeing, leading and managing complex delivery initiatives in a technology and/or digital environment

  • Experience of Consulting at a senior level, ideally within a Public Sector facing organisation

  • Large scale and complex Programme Management experience

  • Possesses a depth of knowledge in a relevant service line area

  • Good commercial understanding of business issues affecting our business, your service line, and potential solutions

  • Robust consulting approach including analysis, solution design, programme management, and measurement

Skills and knowledge:

  • Agile and Lean Practices: you can identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the public sector and current issues affecting it

  • Commercial Management: you know how and when third parties should be brought into digital, data and technology (DDaT) projects

  • Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate staff and bring people together

  • Thorough understanding of applying quality management principles and processes

  • You can help to create the right environment for a team to work in and can empower them to deliver

  • Experienced in applying risk assessment and management principles and processes

  • Disciplined and focussed on delivery of service
