Pen Portraits

Pen Portraits are our curriculum vitae that we use within bids and proposals to allow clients to get a good idea of who their proposed team are and what skills and experience we have to offer.

  • It is the responsibility of every consultant to produce and update their Pen Portrait. This should include all relevant roles even if these are before joining Socitm Advisory.
     

  • This should also include current assignments that are being carried out.
     

  • We often need these at very short notice and by ensuring your Pen Portrait is up to date (review every 9- days) this will ensure you are not disturbed while you are busy on a programme or on leave.

Photographs for Pen Portraits

  • 1 x headshot with head and shoulders, straight to camera or slightly turned to the side.
     

  • 1 x landscape, ideally with you off centre (left or right), head, shoulders and chest, straight to camera or slightly turned to the side.
     

  • Plain light (preferably white, off-white, cream or pale grey) background.
     

  • Smart attire but not 'suited and booted'. The type of thing you would normally wear when going to work - ties and jackets are not required.
     

  • A 'coloured' plain top or shirt so you don't blend into the background (anything except white, off-white, cream or pale grey).

Once you have taken appropriate photographs for your Pen Portrait, please send these to our Senior Creative Designer (Rachael) who will then edit and provide you - you should use the same photograph for your Pen Portrait, Teams profile, and preferably LinkedIn profile.

Where to upload Pen Portraits

  • Once you have finished your pen portrait, please save it and upload it to the '2022 Pen Portraits' folder under the resourcing teams channel linked here: tinyurl.com/yvuybbx9

NetSuite

Implemented in 2020, NetSuite enables us to grow whilst providing efficiencies. NetSuite is our back-end function for HR, resourcing, finance, marketing, sales, our CRM system, our timesheets, expenses, and much more, all in one place.

Expenses

NetSuite expenses (shown right) should only be used for Subsistence claims, motor mileage claims, mobile phone allowance, and other authorised miscellaneous claims.

When booking hotels, trains, flights, or hiring a car you should always use TravelPerk. If you have claims for hotels or travel that predate TravelPerk, you may submit these on NetSuite.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is a big part of life here at Socitm Advisory. We have dedicated Wellbeing Champions from all areas of the business, focusing on our four main wellbeing pillars: mental, physical, social and financial; as well as wellbeing as a whole. 

Wellbeing is a joint venture with our sister company, Socitm, so we have Wellbeing Champions from both sides of the organisations who have completed training with our wellbeing partner, hero wellbeing.

We also have a dedicated Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At Socitm Advisory we have a shared desire to give something back to society. Like wellbeing, we work in partnership with our sister company, Socitm membership, on CSR. We have a number of campaigns and areas of focus for CSR up to 2025:

  • We have a dedicated Carbon Reduction Plan, which you can read here.
     

  • Each year we work with one or two dedicated charities, with an aim of raising at least £5,000 each year.
     

  • We offer employees four paid volunteering days each year.
     

  • We are in partnership with The Heart of England Forest with the Socitm Woodland, giving back to nature.

Our Pension Scheme

All new employees are registered with the Royal London pension scheme.

  • Auto enrolment is postponed for 3 months, so the first pension contributions are taken from salary in month 4 of your employment.
     

  • To opt out of auto enrolment, you should inform Royal London. Contact details will be listed in the welcome pack.
     

  • To opt in earlier or to increase the contribution level, please send an email to Morgan Hanif.
