                    History of Socitm membership

Formed in 1986, Socitm is the professional network for leaders engaged in the innovation and modernisation of public services. They currently have almost 300 member organisations across the UK.

                  History of Socitm Advisory

Socitm Advisory was established in 2015, delivering advisory services to Socitm members and public sector organisations. We are a well established, fully impartial consulting organisation providing agile solutions for our clients, and are trusted by over 100 UK organisations.

Established in 2015, we initially formed the consultancy arm of Socitm membership, before branching out to be our own entity, and their sister company.


Socitm Advisory have a passionate team with broad skills and vast public sector project experience. Our current team stands at over 100 strong.


We are trusted by over 100 public sector organisations across the UK, and are expanding into new sectors, including: housing, central government, and more.

Over the last 6 years we have shared £1.1m in dividend payments back to Socitm membership, that has then been diverted into public services. This includes highly successful programmes like the Leadership Academy; a set of leadership development programmes to harness, develop and promote talent within public service technology roles; and Socitm Research, particularly our ground-breaking work on the ethical use of emerging technologies and data, and our developing programme on post-Covid recovery.


Socitm Advisory is formed in 2015, with founding members engaging Associates.


We had a revenue of £11m in 2019.

Early 2020

Predicted revenue for 2020 = £15m.


We retained our 2-star 'outstanding' ranking with Best Companies, improving our score from 2019.


Teams of permanent employees formed.


We achieved a 2-star 'outstanding' ranking on our first Best Companies.

Late 2020

By the end of 2020 we had 80 permanent employees and 40 associates


By 2025 our ambition is to be 350 employees strong and 50% of our business being outside of local government.
