Portfolio analyst

The Portfolio Analyst is a key role within our Portfolio Function supporting the Portfolio Manager in several key activities; Delivery Assurance Reporting, Demand Planning/Resource Utilisation, and key programme health checks.

Principal responsibilities will include:

Operations and governance:

  • Proactively support plans and schedules for project and programme reporting

  • Support in resource allocation for Opportunities/Programme and Projects

  • Prioritising resources across the portfolio with the right level of skills

  • Management of the corporate Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies log

  • Support in the production of the monthly Portfolio reporting log to share with key stakeholders

  • Provide support in updating core corporate systems for Project/Programme creation alongside resource allocations

  • Support the Head of Portfolio and Portfolio Manager on Delivery Assurance activities including arranging meetings, chasing reports, and updating NetSuite

  • Support in the management of the portfolio Teams site with a full suite of documentation and tools

  • Support in the development of key frameworks that can be used across the Portfolio

  • Manage Portfolio mailbox


  • Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to develop the toolkits, methodologies, case studies and collateral that will differentiate our organisation

  • Take an active role in building and maintaining relationships with our Service Excellence delivery team

  • Where appropriate, lead, manage and develop direct reports

  • Act as a role model for our cultural values

  • Understanding of resource plans and their development

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite as well as SharePoint

  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of risk management

  • Experience of Consulting at an entry level

  • Development of resource plans

  • Resourced project across a portfolio

  • Worked across a portfolio or worked across multiple projects simultaneously
