We are Socitm Advisory - the management consulting business for the public sector.

Our Service Lead role is a position of strategic importance to the future success of Socitm Advisory. The purpose of this role is to act as a senior advisor, subject matter expert, and thought leader for Technology Services within our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Practice.


What we're looking for

  • A leader who possesses a personal gravitas, underpinned with a down to earth attitude, to compliment the Executive Board and inspire our consulting population (both in one-to-one and group situations)

  • A resourceful, practical and results oriented individual that demonstrates a strong and visible passion and commitment to delivery

  • Strong inter-personal and relationship building abilities and thrives in customer facing scenarios

  • A strong networkers with the capacity to build productive, long term, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience of consulting at a senior level within a public sector facing organisation

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the technology within the public sector (ideally local government) and the current challenges that public sector IT teams a

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a nurture great relationships with senior client stakeholders across the portfolio

  • Playing a key role in the planning, programme management and end-to-end delivery of projects

  • Providing a depth of expertise in a specific area of subject matter expertise alongside a confident capacity to outline wider Socitm Advisory products and services

  • Responsible for the profitability (and reporting) of multiple projects

  • Identifies and secures follow-on opportunities, working with Directors to develop and grow accounts

  • Provides subject matter expertise to support Business Development and Sales activities including proposal and pitch activity and thought leadership

  • Plays a significant role in the development and evolution of relevant methodologies ("The Socitm Way"), products and services

  • Develops and executes Practice growth strategies and plans in collaboration with Business Development initiatives

  • Identifies and creates new or enhanced service offers to encourage Practice diversification into new markets and services

  • Acts as brand ambassador for the Practice

  • Supports the leadership team in coaching and developing the consulting population. Plays a leading role in the development and motivation of a high-performance delivery team, attracting and recruiting new talent and creating career development and succession programmes that facilitate an appropriate level of service excellence
